Company states goal is a fully decentralized game that can run autonomously.  It merges gaming and cryptocurrency that is alluring to crypto enthusiasts, dedicated gamers and the curious tech-savvy public. An Illuvium token ILV has a number of uses and it’s the main token to reward players for their in-game achievements and entitles players to their share of the Illuvium Vault and is used for participating in the governance of the game.

You might recall that NFTs or Non Fungible Tokens became popular with the launch of Crypto Kitties in Nov 2017.  Crypto Kitties had some problems but the rarity of owning an NFT got people intersted!  Since then Add-Ons and NFTs are found in games, art and collectables.
