Talking to an AI programer from San Mateo on train and he commented on how great WAYMO https://waymo.com is and how many of his buddies in SF are using it.  What he reports they love it for a few reasons more than UBER or LYFT.  Why? No one to have to carry on conversation (talk or not talk, always uncomfortable a bit; able to control your own audio/radio/climate controller yourself; cars have many lasers that can make them safer than other self driving cars; No driver to bug you if you need to change route while en route, or ask you to get a separate uber. He stated that it was a huge investment for some time with no clear idea when it would make money but I like the data and am entering it on my watch list under Alphabet, as they own it.

Alphabet is trading at $194 and change 12/28/24.  (Google is a subsidiary of Alphabet)
